1 loaf of stale white bread 2 large onions 2 sticks of celery |
sage or poultry seasoning chicken broth, or cream and melted butter salt, pepper |
Break up all the bread into small pieces. Chop the onions and celery (tops and all), then mix into the bread. Add salt and pepper to taste, and as much sage as salt.
Add about a cup of broth (or cream and butter). Pour over dressing and mix until damp but not wet. Do a little at a time so you can add more if needed.
Taste, then add what appeals to you! Salt, pepper, sage....!
Don't stuff a turkey until you're ready to put it in the oven.
