In addition to the FirstSearch and CDROM databases and the Lexis/Nexis Information Services, the Library continues to offer access to specialized databases through DIALOG, EPIC, and STN . The databases available from each of these vendors provides information in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts. Because of the controlled vocabulary, cost per minute search charges and cost per citation retrieved, it is recommended that a librarian mediate searches from these vendors.
A search request form is available from the Information Desk and patrons are encouraged to discuss their topics with the subject area librarian before the search is conducted. Once a librarian has completed a search, the results may be sent via computer to the researcher.
